Sun-Dried Tomato Sauce Recipe

  • 1 cups sun-dried tomatoes, chopped

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 ribs of celery, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

  • 36 oz whole or chopped tomatoes, undrained

  • 1 cup dry white wine 

  • 1 teaspoon dried fennel seed

  • 4 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 2 tablespoons fresh oregano, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Place all the ingredients in the crockpot except the fresh herbs.

Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours.

Half an hour before serving the sauce add the herbs to the crockpot and stir.

Cover the crockpot again and cook for a further 30 minutes on LOW.

Serve the sun-dried tomato crockpot sauce over pasta, vegetables and baked potatoes. Serves 4
