Beef And Bacon Slowcook

 

Beef and Bacon recipe

  • 1kg lean chuck steak, cut into 2cm cubes

  • 8 slices of thick back bacon, thickly sliced

  • ½ cup of flour

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 clove of garlic, peeled and crushed

  • 2 cups of beer

  • 2 tablespoons cornflour

  • 3 tablespoons water

  • Freshly ground black pepper

Put flour, salt and pepper in a food or freezer bag and add the meat. Shake well to coat. Remove the meat from the bag.

In a large pan, brown the meat and transfer to the Crockpot or Slow Cooker.

Place the rest of the ingredients in the crockpot except the cornflour and water.

Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender.

Combine the cornflour with the water and mix into the crockpot.

Cook on HIGH for 30 minutes or until gravy has thickened.

Serve the Beef and Bacon Crockpot with creamy mashed potato and greens.
