Beef and Guiness Crockpot
Beef and guines recipe

500g lean stewing steak, cut into 2cm cubes

3 tablespoons of olive oil

4 tablespoons of flour

3 cloves of garlic, crushed

1 onion, peeled and chopped
-
1 carrot, peeled and chopped
-
2 sticks of celery, washed and sliced

1 swede, peeled and chopped
-
1 parsnip, peeled and chopped
-
1 cup of broad beans
-
300ml Guiness
-
½ teaspoon of salt
-
Freshly ground black pepper

1 bouquet garni
-
Place the salt, pepper and flour into a food or freezer bag, add the meat and shake well to coat.

Heat the oil in a pan and add the garlic.

Add the meat to the pan and brown.
Place the vegetables and Guiness in the crockpot/slow cooker and mix until well combined.
Stir in the meat and add the bouquet garni.
Cover and cook on LOW for 9-11 hours.
Remove the bouquet garni before serving.
Serve the Beef and Guiness Crockpot with creamed mashed potato and greens.
